Why Parents Love The Littles of Parkhurst

Parents choose The Littles of Parkhurst because it is more than a baby and toddler program — it is a place where both children and caregivers feel genuinely seen, supported, and valued. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed into a calm, nurturing environment that feels safe, inclusive, and beautifully intentional.

Our program is thoughtfully designed by Occupational Therapists and delivered with care, expertise, and heart. Every activity has purpose, supporting your child’s physical, sensory, emotional, and cognitive development in a natural and playful way. Parents trust us because they know their little ones are not just playing — they are learning, growing, and being gently guided through each important stage of early development.

Sense of Community

Families also love the sense of community we have created. The Littles of Parkhurst is a space where friendships are formed, stories are shared, and support is freely given. Whether you are a first-time parent finding your feet or a seasoned caregiver looking for connection, you will find warmth, understanding, and encouragement here.

And while your child explores, moves, and discovers, you get to pause. Enjoy a good cup of coffee, meaningful conversation, and a moment to breathe. It’s these small, thoughtful touches that make parents return week after week.

At The Littles of Parkhurst, we believe in creating beautiful beginnings — for your child and for you.

Uke creates the most amazing, nurturing spaces for children and their caregivers. Always inclusive, thoughtful and supportive, her team put together a program of carefully tailored activities designed to stimulate and challenge, but also make everyone feel safe and held. She sees and cares deeply for each child in her care. Both of my children spent many happy years in her classes and are richer for it.

Uke creates an exceptional and deliberate space for little people. Her approach to play-based learning is thoughtful, joyful and deeply intentional. Both of my daughters have thrived in her care. She has been especially supportive of my daughter who is deaf and has global developmental delays - ensuring she was included, supported and able to grow with confidence. Uke brings deep wisdom and extensive experience in supporting children’s development in a way that is genuinely inclusive of all abilities, backgrounds, and families. Laughter and warmth are constant in her space. I cannot recommend Uke and this group highly enough.

Baby class was so good for our son's development, and now our 17 month old daughter is getting the same experience. The sensory play, fine motor skill development, social engagement with other kids, and the group sessions of singing and interaction are so important for the little ones development. My little firecracker is having an absolute ball at these playdates :)

Uke and her team are just amazing with keeping the little ones entertained, but most importantly making sure they're learning while playing.

I've known Uke for 10 years. When I moved to Johannesburg I had a 1 year old and I was an anxious first time single mom. Even though I was working full time I really wanted a gentle and happy space for my son. When I met Uke and saw her space I knew I felt immediately safe. She was so knowledgeable and kind and funny! She thinks about everything and her years worth of experiences with babies and small children means that she always has some experience that she can share or that she has learned from. Not only does Uke know about kids things she also knows about parent and mom things and with this age group that is as important. I went on to have 2 more children, both of whom started their school-going worlds with Uke and in her nurturing and lovely care. Uke's new group is incredible, the space is so warm and inviting and I'm now sad I'm done having babies! You cannot ask for a better caregiver, a more aware, culturally astute, fun and friendly, caregiver who is aware of the context of Johannesburg, than Uke. I cannot sing her praises highly enough!
