Performing arts classes
The Johannesburg Academy for Theatre Arts offers quality tuition for children and teens in all aspects of the performing arts and presents group classes in diverse forms of dance (Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and African Dance) as well as individualized acting and singing coaching. JATA aims to equip future practitioners of the theatre arts with all the necessary skills required of the professional triple threat performer but all our students experience the outstanding benefits of training in the arts – enhanced self-esteem and confidence, improved social skills as well as strengthened problem-solving and generative thinking abilities.
All our instructors are accredited teachers and/or industry professionals with unsurpassed knowledge and experience in their area of expertise.

Centre Stage
•Exam and performance orientated dance, singing and acting training for children and teens

Holiday clubs
JATA also offers Musical Theatre Holiday Clubs to keep our young performers entertained over holiday periods as well as fun dance classes all year through for those looking for alternative ways to keep fit.

Win a place at an upcoming Holiday Club (Jan 6 - Jan 10th). The Holiday Club is aimed at all school-going children, divided into Minis, Juniors and Seniors groups. The winner will be entitled to daily participation at the clubs, which run from 8:30am to 1pm with a Showcase Performance at the end of the week. Clubs focus on: co-ordination, musicality, expression, voice projection, improvisation and performance.

Courtney won the last holiday program, she absolutely loved it, she still talks about how amazing the teachers are and what great friends she made.
The little showcase the kids did about bullying was so sweet, very talented kids.

My daughter attended the holiday club and we can highly recommend JATA. The classes are super fun yet very informative and in touch with the industry. Theatre ROCKS!

I would recommend Anitra and her team at JATA to anyone with little ones who like to sing, dance, act or just have fun. Her holiday programme was so much fun and done with so much care and energy. There was so much packed into the week holiday programme, kids got to learn songs, dance moves, acting lines and even made their own costumes. At the end of the week parents were treated to watching the show and appreciating their little one's hard work.
Anitra gives great feedback about how your little one is doing and her inclusive teaching style makes sure no one feels left out and that everyone makes friends and has fun. Definitely something to try in the future!

Such a brilliant addition to the Randburg area. Fantastic team of teachers, very well organised and so good to have a 'one-stop-shop' for musical theatre, fun and development. My kids are loving it and I can highly recommend JATA.
