James Hall Museum of Transport

The James Hall Museum of Transport (JHMT) is a thematic land transport museum covering various modes of transport dating back some 400 years and is the largest museum of its kind in South Africa. We have steam driven vehicles, trains, trams and trolley busses, fire fighting vehicles, early bicycles, animal drawn vehicles and cars.

For schools: The Education Dept within JHMT runs programs specifically designed for the OBE system, together with worksheets that can be obtained from the museum prior to their tour. During school holidays we run holiday programs. For specific information or specialised interest group tours contact Peter Hall.
Educational Tours, Holiday Programmes or theme events contact Education Dept Phillemon Maeko or Mandla Nkomo.

* Entrance is free but we do ask for donations which go towards various projects.
* Bookings required. Lunch packs can be ordered at a reduced cost.
