At Crest Learning Centre in Ferndale, we do things differently.

Crest is a Centre for Remediation, Enrichment, Support & Therapy, created for children whose learning journeys don't always fit the traditional school model. We particularly welcome neurodivergent learners, including children with ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, high-functioning autism, processing differences and anxiety.

Our philosophy is simple: meet the child where they are, understand how they learn, and build from their strengths.

Small Classes, Individual Developmental Pace

Our small, ability-grouped learning communities allow children to progress at their own developmental pace without the pressure of constantly being compared to their age group. Classrooms are calm and intentionally structured to reduce sensory overwhelm, while hands-on, multi-sensory learning makes academic concepts more accessible and meaningful.

We Offer Two Learning Pathways:

- CAPS (Grades R-7) for learners following the South African national curriculum, with individualised scaffolding and multi-sensory teaching.
- DCAPS for learners who require a more flexible, skills-based pathway, with an emphasis on practical life skills, independence and meaningful real-world learning.

What makes Crest particularly different is the way education and therapeutic support work together. Occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology and counselling, and remedial support can be integrated into the child's educational journey, with teachers and therapists working collaboratively rather than in isolation.

We also believe learning should be joyful. Children experience art, pottery, movement, outdoor activities and hands-on enrichment alongside their academic learning. Our 6-Bricks programme is woven into the school day to support concentration, memory, sequencing, fine-motor skills, language and problem-solving through play.

Most importantly, your child is not viewed as a diagnosis or a problem to be fixed. We look at the whole child, their strengths, challenges, personality, interests and potential "" while working closely with families and therapists to create a consistent circle of support.

Crest Learning Centre is situated at 26 Cross Street, Ferndale, Randburg, and welcomes learners from Grade R to Grade 7, including learners following the DCAPS stream.
