NPO for rescued, abused, neglected, stray animals

We are a non-profit, pro-life, rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing facility in Gauteng, South Africa.

Our motto is ACTA NON VERBA - Action not words.

We provide assistance to unfortunate, homeless, abused, neglected, stray, injured, ill, geriatric and unwanted animals (predominantly canines) that would otherwise have miserable lives and premature deaths.

Drop off premises for donations in Sandton

Our satellite drop off branch is located at 43 Lincoln Street, Woodmead, Sandton. These premises are sponsored by Chartered Appointments and they are able to co-ordinate and store any donations that are dropped off.

Or you can donate R20 to the rescue centre by sms'ing 'dog' to 40733 - ALL PROCEEDS GO TOWARD OUR STERILIZATION DRIVE AND TOWNSHIP FEEDING SCHEMES.

Cat Cafe at Kyalami Corner

Picture yourself in a cafe, savoring a latte macchiato, when you feel something soft brushing against your legs. Looking down, you find a purring bundle of fur seeking affection from you. This is no ordinary cafe; it's a cat cafe. It's a place to relax and enjoy, combining work and leisure. The walls are adorned with whimsical cat-themed artwork, and cozy nooks are filled with plush cushions where cats and visitors alike can lounge comfortably. The atmosphere is serene, with soft music playing in the background, mingling with the gentle purrs and occasional meows of the feline residents.

Each cat at the cafe has a unique story. Many were rescued from difficult situations and have found a temporary yet loving home here, waiting for the perfect family to adopt them. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the cats, providing them with much-needed socialisation and love.

For those working remotely, the cafe offers a tranquil environment to set up a laptop and get productive, with the added bonus of having a furry companion to keep you company.

Woodrock Animal Rescue hopes that by creating this cat cafe, they can not only provide a safe haven for rescued cats but also raise awareness about animal adoption and the importance of giving these animals a second chance. Whether you're there to work, relax, or potentially meet your new feline friend, the cat cafe at Kyalami Corner promises an experience filled with warmth, joy, and a touch of magic.

Time:
9am-2pm
Info:
This Mandela Day, Woodrock Animal Rescue invites you to be part of something deeply meaningful: the Woodrock Mandela Day Walk of Giving â€" a 6.7km journey across our farm inspired by the 67 minutes of service championed by Nelson Mandela.

Set in the heart of the Hennops River Valley, this immersive experience offers individuals, families, schools, and corporate teams the opportunity to walk with purpose while making a tangible difference in the lives of rescue animals and the broader community we serve through our outreach programmes.

Along the route, you will experience a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into one of South Africa’s most respected animal welfare organisations and meet many of the more than 500 rescues who call Woodrock home, from dogs and cats to donkeys, ducks, and farm animals. Each with a story of survival, hope, and second chances.

At the start of the walk, visitors will be welcomed at our Hope Hub, where donations from the Woodrock Mandela Day Wish List can be dropped off. These need not be newly purchased items. Gently used clothing, blankets, cleaning supplies, household goods, pet food, and essential items from your own home or office can make an immediate and meaningful difference.
There is something especially powerful about giving from what you already have.

Other Meaningful Ways to Get Involved
Partner with a Paw-se Stop
Sponsor one of our thoughtfully positioned Paw-se Stops along the route â€" water stations designed for walkers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the purpose of the journey.

Roll Up Your Sleeves
Corporate teams and volunteers are invited to spend the day making a hands-on difference through projects such as:
• Painting kennels
• Gardening and landscaping
• Washing blankets
• Farm maintenance
• Supporting our clinic and outreach programmes
We can tailor projects to suit your team and create a memorable experience with lasting impact.

Help Secure Our Sanctuary
Recent break-ins have highlighted the urgent need to strengthen sections of our perimeter fencing. By sponsoring fencing panels, you will help create a safer environment for our animals, staff, volunteers, and the wider community that depends on Woodrock.
