Contemporary, Ballet & Spanish Dance classes


At The Johannesburg Arts Conservatory, we offer classes to aspiring dancers of all ages. At these Young JAC Training classes, we focus on Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Our pre-professional programs, run at the Johannesburg Arts Conservatory, caters for the dancer who would like to pursue a professional career in dance.

Our classical ballet is based on the Vaganova Style, and the contemporary dance is under direction of acclaimed international dancer and director of the school, Holly Gruver.

Professional Dance Company


WGRUV Dance Company, founded in 2022, is a contemporary ballet ensemble based at the Johannesburg Arts Conservatory in Bryanston. At JAC our classes cater to both pre-professional and young student dancers, fostering growth and creativity in a vibrant environment.

Under the direction of Holly Gruver, WGRUV collaborates with international and local choreographers, including Carli Olivier and Compañia Sophia, to infuse our performances with diverse influences, notably drawing from Spanish dance.

This season, we present a dynamic repertoire featuring "Pressure Points," "Lina," and "Trilogy of Notes." Experience the fusion of artistry and innovation as WGRUV brings fresh perspectives to the stage, captivating audiences with our unique blend of movement and expression.

Adding to the excitement, WGRUV is collaborating with Joburg Ballet this season, welcoming Marlon Sales to the stage.
