National Cultural History Museum

A museum which explores South Africa's cultural diversity with various permanent and temporary exhibitions. Exhibits include rock paintings and engravings of the San people and looking at archeology through Iron Age figurines. The museum focuses on the history of 9 South African families relecting diverse backgrounds and investigating how different and how similar we are. We also offer educational programs in English, Zulu, Afrikaans, Setswana, Sesotho, Xhosa and SePedi, which run for approx 2 hrs. The programs are in line with initiatives which show respect for cultural diversity and are OBE designed, focussing on the syllabus. We cover Technology, Arts and Culture, Social Sciences, Languages and Life Orientation by means of hands-on interactive activities and exhibitions. Food can be arranged for your learners through our restaurant (Ph 012 324 3560).
