Elephant interaction, nature walks & educational tours
As numbers of elephants have decreased in the last 100 years from 4 million to roughly 400 000 due to poaching and habitat loss, we are honoured to have saved a few. We are even more thrilled to be able to connect you with Elephants through our unique interactions, so that you might see them for what they are, and therefore think a little bit more about their future, and indeed many other species, in an ever changing and modernising Africa.
What we offer:
Educational elephant interaction facility
You will enjoy a close, personal and safe encounter with our gentle giants. Our elephants stand under shade on soft mats for comfort.
Here you’ll learn about elephants from tail tip to trunk tip and everything between, experience first hand an elephant’s intelligence through to how acute its sense of smell is, you’ll experience their gentle nature as well as the stimulating levels of trust and companionship that can be developed between elephant and man. Take part in allowing an elephant to remember your name or identify you by your scent.
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Starting times:
9M, 12pm and 3pm
Elephant Bath
NOT AVAILABLE DURING WINTER MONTHS
This experience is an add-on after the educational interaction or safari, where you accompany the herd up to the top dam to watch the herd swim.
You will have the opportunity to spend some intimate time with some of these majestic elephants in the water, while brushing & bathing them (with a bit of splashing thrown in). There are also great photo opportunities where you can pose with the elephants mud bathing and swimming in the background.
A truly intimate, AWE inspiring activity.
Nature Walk
Head out with the herd after the interaction to spend a little more time getting to know them a lot better! Here you’ll see the wild side of the elephants as they free-range feed, frolic, drink, dustbathe and enjoy the 300-hectare wildlife reserve they call home!
NB THIS IS AN ADD-ON EXPERIENCE AND CAN ONLY BE BOOKED TOGETHER WITH ELEPHANT INTERACTION
No children under 10 years old
Online Zoom Session
Take a break and have a Zoom call with our elephants! Perfect for a team build for corporates who have staff working from home, schools, families and even just yourself if you looking to learn more about these wonderful animals.
Our mascot travels to schools or hospitals giving kids exciting educational information about elephants.
