Kids party venue & mobile animals

We are now open again for birthday parties with a limit of 40 people per party. Covid protocols will be adhered to.

We also offer to bring our animals (bunnies and guinea pigs) to you for parties at home or a venue of your choice.

Non profit company (NPC) in animal rescue and as an educational centre

The Bunny Hop Haven is a place for rescued and surrendered exotic pets and small farm animals.
We have rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats, pigs and tortoises. These animals come and live and have fun at The Bunny Hop.

If anyone wants to adopt the animals, we have a strict home check and adoption process.

Besides rescuing and rehabilitating and caring for the animals, we also have our educational side to the haven.

The outdoor classroom at The Bunny Hop Haven

This programme is for babies from 3 months to children of 12 years. Through sensory stimulation, to recycling, to gardening and to animal care , children will be able to learn about their environment and the natural world.
Bookings required.

Educational and fun for school excursions

We invite schools to come visit during the week, we want children to interact and learn about animals. There are so many children , who do not get the opportunity to see and handle animals for real. Its either from books or pictures, TV and the internet.
We are also open on weekends for families to come and interact and feed the animals.

We have a basic entrance fee which covers the cost of the vegetable buckets, which the kiddies get as well as vet fees and staff salaries.

Community service for high school kids

The Bunny Hop Haven is connected to Community Hours SA -we have lots of high school kids coming to spend time with us and complete their community service hours. We also have other kids coming to volunteer their time because they just love animals. I am also encouraging younger kids to assist as well.

Besides the fun and play visits -I also have a specific educational programme visit for Grade R to Grade 3 children, where the kids come with their teachers/facilitators and the children actually do tasks at Bunny Hop -eg: planting seeds in our vegetable garden / socialising Baby bunnies/ giving hay to all and so on.

When it’s a special holiday or we have a themed day -then we have extra fun at Bunny Hop. Our first priority is our animals - their safety, their health and their emotional state.
