Having a healthy lunch box for kids is essential in order to provide them with optimal nutrition which helps them through their busy day. Our yummy lunch box recipes are not only easy but healthy and delicious. Having two kids of my own I am aware that I have to be extremely creative to keep their lunch boxes mouth-watering…


  • 50 ml hot water
  • 5 ml yeast
  • ½ cup flour
  • Garlic flakes
  • Pinch of salt
  • Tomato paste
  • ½ cup grated cheese
  • 4 slices of ham/cooked chicken/salami
  • 1 large mushroom
  • 2 slices of pineapple


  • Preheat oven 180C
  • Add hot water and yeast to bowl, mix well until yeast is dissolved
  • Add garlic flakes and a pinch of salt
  • Measure flour and add
  • Mix well until mixture forms a dough ball
  • Knead dough
  • Leave aside to rise
  • Chop toppings into small pieces
  • Roll dough and cut out 4/5 circles
  • Place circles of dough onto a greased pan
  • Spread tomato paste on each
  • Add cheese and the toppings (Ham, Mushroom and pineapple)
  • Bake for 15min on 180C
