Home for abandoned babies & kids

The Hakuna Matata House is a house for orphaned, destitute, and abandoned children in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was created in 2012 by Rebecca Kemp Pogir. We are currently doing fundraising in order to open the house in October 2014. We will provide all children at the HM house with around the clock care, education, proper nutrition to eradicate malnutrition, and medical care as well as psychosocial rehabilitation through play and counseling. Our goal is to give the children of the HM house a fresh start and to equip them to lead happy and healthy lives.

There are currently 1.9 millions AIDS orphans in South Africa ( and the numbers are growing. South Africa’s HIV and AIDS epidemic has had a devastating and tragic effect on children. The Hakuna Matata House was estabilished to help these children affected by tragedy.

Fundraising is our main priority right now. Our house will be a 3 to 4 bedroom house in Johannesburg and we are looking for volunteers and donations including money, baby clothes, baby supplies, formula, baby food. Please contact if you would like to donate. We will have a fundraising page up shortly.
