Mainstream alternative education centres Gr 8-12


Synaptic College was born from home school ideals. We opened in 2012 under the name, Mega Mind Tutor Centre and recently rebranded ourselves to Synaptic College. We boast 8 years of great students coming and going, all finding their way through the education system in a way that best suits their needs. Were proud to be one of the educational centres to host NSC exams for Gauteng and we strive to be the best small independent school in the greater Fourways region.

Small classes, personal attention


The concept of Small classes and individual attention really resonates with us and our vision to make schooling enjoyable and achievable. Our centre has 11 classrooms, some seating 4 learners others seating 12 learners where we host full-time schooling with teachers who are qualified and motivated to carry over content in the most creative way. Our groups are kept small as we feel the need to know each learners strength and weakness in order to facilitate their learning better.

All Students are registered with Mindscape education so they receive a recognised termly report as set out by CAPS.

Our motto remains; A happy child is a child who wants to learn!

The warmth of the teachers! The homely feeling of a school that fits. Seeing your child jump out the car and eager to get into classes. The content feeling of finding a place that feels right, calm and safe. The forward thinking and funky environment that is different from the outdated uniform 'box' structured education system when your child is only a number. My son feels at home at Synaptic and he is cared for as a unique individual and We LOVE YOU! ❤️

Just love and adore this school and all the teachers. My kids love the system and have excelled so much because of the warmth and care given by the teachers to their students - they actually WANT to go to school which is such a relief for a parent. I would highly recommend (and have done to many fellow parents) this school if your kids just do not fit into main stream schooling. Thanks to Coleen and her amazing team for making high school such a pleasure for my kids.

I am so grateful I found this school for my daughter who is writing matric this year and needed a school with small classes, friendly and dedicated teachers and not too much distraction. Thank you Coleen and the team for creating such a professional learning environment.
