Bespoke children's book store and workshop space
It is invaluable to instil in young people the value of story; to develop imagination; the willingness to play; engage with fantasy and develop a love for text. We know from research that play and improvisation develops resilience; creative capacity and self-confidence which are essential skills throughout life.
To this end Story Café has been created to offer:
Unique and Carefully Curated Books
Story Cafe is a bespoke children's book store specialising in carefully curating books to encourage the development of emotional, creative and cultural literacy.
Fully facilitated Story Workshops
We run story workshops from Wednesdays to Sundays every week, using fun interactive creative methods to explore the unique books in store. There is always a take home craft completed in the workshop. The workshops are either 45 or 60 minutes in length. Parents can relax and have coffee/food at Lucky Fish Cafe right door whilst we play. During the school holidays we offer wonderful workshops for older kids.
Adult / Parent/ Carer and CPD workshops
We run a variety of specialised workshops for adults and professionals.
Book Launches and Special Events
We are committed to showcasing local authors, we host book launches and special readings.
We run a variety of special events including but not limited to our Winter and Summer Story Fairs.
Birthday Parties
We host unique Birthday parties. We have a menu of 3 birthday party package options.

There is an amazing selection of beautiful books in the shop.
The book launches are special and fun too.

The most inspiring, enlightening and positive bookstore around! Its one of my favourite outings with my daughter, and the staff always have excellent suggestions if you are looking for a book covering a particular topic.
