Peek-a-Boo Playgroup - Where imagination is more important than knowledge
At Peek-a-Boo we base our approach to children on this quote made famous by one of the greatest minds of our time – Albert Einstein.
Lesley O’Brien, current principal, opened Peek-a-Boo in 1997 with the hope of providing children with a safe and secure environment in which to flourish and develop well-rounded social skills through the power of play. We believe in learning through play and address confidence, emotional stability individuality.
Our ratio of one caregiver for every five children ensures that your child will receive the utmost care and nurture from Peek-a-Boo’s warm and loving staff members.

PLAY GIVES CHILDREN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE WHAT THEY ARE LEARNING
The children at Peek-a-Boo are separated into two classes the 'BIGGIE’ GROUP and the 'LITTLIE’ GROUP
From the start we at Peek-a-Boo target the child’s emotional quota (EQ). Our belief is that if their EQ is in place and stable, everything else, such as their IQ and learning ability, automatically stems from their well-balanced EQ. With the EQ in place, a child should not be ‘blocked’ to any form of learning as their self belief and self worth and self confidence is so complete.
The equipment in each schoolroom is age appropriate but challenging for the child – again targeting the child’s self esteem and confidence level. We teach the children to achieve for themselves, not for the teachers or their friends.
Our ‘biggie’ group are the children turning 3. In the classroom there is structure even to our ‘free play’. The children are supervised and are encouraged to perform a mind stimulating activity as they arrive in the morning. We work on their cutting skills, their auditory memory, concentration, socializing skills and many other skills so that they have the confidence and self-esteem to enter the structured nursery school system.
Our ‘littlie’ group are the children turning 2 the year they join Peek-a-Boo. The ‘littlie’ group involves a lot of encouraging, praise and generally helping the little ones over separation anxiety and teaching them to be kind to their friends and how to share
Here at Peek-a-Boo we try to encourage the children to learn through creativity. Every week we follow a new theme that will teach your child through creative exercises such as baking, art and story telling. Our themes teach the children various shapes, colours, fruits, seasons and so on while also encouraging them to learn basic social skills such as sharing and team play.
Third party activities - extra murals
Peek-a-Boo also offers two third party activities. These are offered during school hours but are completely optional and will be charged for separately by the vendor.
