Intimate Family-Run Playschool & Kindergarten


Welcome to our little family - Who are we?
Happy Kids Playschool is a family-run school based in Sandringham. Our head teacher Natalie has over 25 years of experience, while our head assistant Gloria has been with us for over 10 years. At Happy Kids, we work individually with every child making sure their age does not restrict them but rather encouraged by their skill level and abilities. To ensure no child ‘falls through the gap’ we keep our teacher-to-children ratio low at 1:4. We teach using various methods such as music, movement and dramatisation. We also do messy/ sensory play daily. Eg water play, sandpit play or other fun activities such as finger painting or dough play.

Home away from home


We understand that playschool is not only your child's first experience of school, so too is it the first time you have to ‘leave your little love’. We have therefore created a home-away-from-home environment where we treat and love your children as our own. We settle each child at their own pace ensuring their first school experience is gentle, loving and positive.

Teacher-Parent Feedback


Each child and their family is provided with their own WhatsApp group ensuring ongoing communication, videos and photos to ensure peace of mind for parents.

Intramurals (Once per week)


- KinderMusiek (Music and rhythm taught in a fun and dynamic way)
- Playball (Sport - focusing on developing gross and fine motor skills in a fun and playful manner)

Aftercare is available till 1:30pm

Training Programme


We also offer a private ‘domestic worker training program’ - Banyana Training, where we educate these women about creating purposeful play in the home to ensure maximum learning potential. Topics covered: Drawing, Block play, Puzzles, Reading, Messy play, Ball play and outdoor play, Painting, Imaginative play and Positive discipline

Education - the gift that keeps on giving
We have been very privileged to have worked with Implio (Child Protection and Adoption Services). Where age-appropriate, we find sponsors for these wonderful kids in need ensuring they are provided with an education while at Impilo and during the wait of their adoption process.

Happy Kids is not only a beautiful and conducive environment for children but for their parents as well. The open communication, care and critical understanding of childcare, development and learning is a must have for first-time and all parents!

I highly recommend Happy Kids Playschool! The love and care the kids get from Natalie, Aimee , Gloria and Grace is phenomenal! The lessons are kids are stimulating and fun 🤩.. The kids love coming to playschool. They are stimulated and have fun too. The kids are took good values and discipline. The kids just blossom and confidence just grows. The lessons are varied and stimulating for the kids. The kids feel secure , which is very important.Happy 😃 Kids playschool rocks ❤️💕

One of the best little playschools at which I have ever taught Kindermusik
Natalie and Aime are the most friendly loving and humorous people who treat each child as their own - they are incredibly perceptive and very knowledgeable and give 100% of the energy every second of the day. They are creative too and you will be overwhelmed by how your child will grow. You are in the best hands at this little school.

The most outstanding loving phenomenal playschool. My daughter never cried a tear ever whilst there she could not wait to go every morning. Truly phenomenal and I can't recommend it enough

Best school EVER!
Natalie and Aimee who run the school are lovely, warm, focus on high level education though love and excitement. They teach good values as well. I highly recommend their school. There is personal attention to each and every kid. The parents requests are always being taken into account. I wish there were more schools such as this one around!!!

Happy Kids is a very nurturing, creative and warm play school where our son absolutely flourished. If there were more senior classes at Happy Kids, we would have kept him there for sure.

It has been amazing to see how my grandson has grown and has learned so much from Happy Kids play school. He has loved going to school. my granddaughter will be going there this year.

Both my kids went to Happy Kids. They were so happy there. Happy kids is a warm and nurturing environment, where they learn so much. You have the peace of mind that your kids are safe, learning and happy. It's a place where my kids gained their confidence. I would definitely recommend Happy Kids.

We decided to send our second child to a smaller play school and they had the best 2 years of their life. You would not find a more nurturing, supportive and stimulating environment. The staff and helpers have years of experience. I highly recommend Happy Kids to any prospective parent!

I remember the first day I came to this playschool to view it and instantly fell in love with the feelong you get as you enter the gate. This is the most wonderful, hands on, overflowing-with-love play school you'll ever have the privilege of experiencing!!!!! Basically feels like I'm dropping my daughter off with her other family. I have peace of mind when leaving my little girl here for the morning. I've seen her just blossom over the year she has already been here! Most magical, most marvellous and most caring playschool where your child is not just a number! The kids get so much one on one attention and the the teachers are so warm and welcoming. Best decision we made! The only down side is that my little girl can't just stay here until matric! ;)

Our little one is so happy! We have seen him grow in confidence and absolutely loves going to school every day. Best teachers and staff ever. Would highly recommend. Could not have asked for a better start for him. Thank you Happy Kids!
