Rhythmic gymnastics classes for girls

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a competitive girls' sport that combines dance and gymnastics skills. We use five different hand apparatus; rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon while dancing to music. It is a fantastic sport for developing all of the much needed physical skills including strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination and balance.

Know your gymnastics coach

Maureen van Rooyen: Maureen has over 30 years coaching experience. Gold Reef has produced the majority of South Africa's Junior and Senior National Team members. She attended three Olympic Games as a coach with her gymnasts, three Commonwealth Games and numerous World Championships throughout her career. Maureen loves to see a child develop and has supported many gymnasts throughout their Rhythmic Gymnastics careers.

Aimee van Rooyen: Aimee grew up in Gold Reef. At the age of 11 she started competing internationally. She is an international recognised High Performance gymnasts who has competed at Youth Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and World Championships. She has 18 years experience in the sport and provides quality coaching to all girls.

Tshifularo Davhula: Tshitshi walked into Gold Reef Rhythmic Gymnasts at age 14, and has never left since. She competed for many years and decided to express her passion for Rhythmic Gymnastics as coach. Tshifularo has received many ‘Coach of the Year’ awards in Gauteng and loves to see the gymnasts grow from strength to strength.
