CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA is the only organisation in South Africa that provides comprehensive countrywide support for children with cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders, and their families.

CHOC’s direct support is through our social workers, regional offices and accommodation facilities, which are close to the state-funded paediatric oncology units in the metropolitan municipalities of City of Cape Town (Western Cape), Buffalo City (Eastern Cape), City of Johannesburg (Gauteng), City of Tshwane (Gauteng), eThekwini (KwaZulu-Natal), Mangaung (Free State) and Nelson Mandela Bay (Eastern Cape).

Our comprehensive support improves the welfare and quality of care of children with cancer and offers families a wide range of psychosocial services and practical support such as counselling, training and awareness of the early warning signs of childhood cancer, free accommodation around the country, transport to ensure that no child abandons treatment because the family is unable to afford the transport costs, food parcels as we recognise the financial difficulties families often face, parent to parent support groups and recreational activities. CHOC also plays a leading advocacy role and promotes early detection to save lives.

The idea of children and their families waking up and depending on battery powered lanterns in such circumstances should also be inconceivable. Yet, in the face of our current challenges, this is a stark reality.

Bring Hope One Solar System at a Time to CHOC Houses Nationwide.

Your support provides hot water, cozy homes, continuously charged phones, and nutritious home-cooked meals, creating a true ‘home away from home’ for our families.

Please donate towards this worthy cause.
