Therapies are not compulsory and are not included in the school fees. All our therapists are registered with the council and their fees can be claimed back through your medical aid.

Pre-school & foundation phase Primary School for children with autism
Amazing K is a Pre-school and foundation phase Primary School for children with autism, pervasive development disorders, ADD/ADHD and Aspergers.
Our Pre school is situated near the Northgate Shopping Center - in Northwold and our Primary School is situated in Sharonlea.
We offer specialized educational services, a fully adapted CAPS curriculum, extra murals and therapies.
We can currently accommodate learners from the age of 2 years.
Teaching methods geared for various learning challenges
Our teaching methods and curriculum as set up to help children with the following difficulties / delays:
Children that battle to fit into a mainstream classroom, schooling or social environment
Children with Sensory Integration difficulties
Children with tantrums and behavioral difficulties
Children with developmental delays (which includes but is not limited to speech, language, functional learning, toilet training, social skills, academics, feeding, dressing etc)
Children that struggle with speech development and/or children that are unable to speak
Children that struggle to do writing and/or cutting activities
Children with ADD/ADHD
Children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) / Autism
Children that have motor planning problems
Children that battle to understand verbal communication as well as non-verbal cues, like body language and/or facial expression
At Amazing K we have an adapted CAPS Curriculum and we use methods such as IPad Learning/E-learning, TEACCH structured teaching methodologies, Floortime, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) & Makaton.
Even thought our learners need to fit into designated classes the classes and programs are made up to meet each individual students needs.
Classes are however grouped, with occasional exceptions, by chronological age and/or level of independence, learning and/or communication.
We offer a team approach with a maximum of a one-to-four ratio;
Students are regularly assessed to determine skill acquisition and maintenance in accordance with their Individualized Education Plan (IEP);
We have CCTV in all classes and on the playground
