Geological tours rock!

Did you know that Johannesburg is also known as the place of Gold? Egoli is an iSizulu name referring to the fact that 40% of the worlds gold reserves have been found in the area. So what better place to discover treasures in than Johannesburg? Guided underground mine tours will astound you and the little ones with all kinds of information about gemstone formation and exploration. There are tours with mineral and rock studies, basic geology and rock boxes for your kids to take home and continue their discoveries.

Calling all animal lovers

Find fun filled, educational and environmentally focused programs that teach kids about saving the planet, preserving our environment and interacting with animals. Animals viewed on the tour can include cheetah, African wild dog, brown hyena, caracal, African wild cat, vultures and various antelope species. Children will also learn more about insects, recycling, tracking animals and so much more. For more on school educational tours, please click here.

Constitution Hill and Play Africa

Guided tours can be arranged beforehand for groups of more than 10 people. This is highly recommended as the information given and the professional manner of the guides adds so much value to the tour. You will get a chance to see the Constitutional Court which is the highest court in South Africa and was born of the country's first democratic Constitution in 1994. Prisoners of the apartheid era were also kept here and a tour of the facilities is a sobering reality of what suffering the era caused to inmates and disadvantaged people of South Africa. A must-see indeed to learn about South Africa's turbulent past and its extraordinary transition to democracy!

Play Africa at Constitution Hill is based in the Old Fort section with exhibits & programs that stimulate physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth of young children from birth to 10 years.
