Placements: 20 June \u2013 9 September 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a style=\"color: #66a0cc; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;\" href=\"#M2\"> Boarding Schools <\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications: 1 June \u2013 19 August 2022 (see procedure in notes below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Online application procedure &amp; conditions<\/h2>\n<p>The annual online application procedure has been improved and finetuned. Details of how to apply will be communicated to you timeously.<\/p>\n<p>The MEC outlined the following procedures and conditions for parents to take note of in preparation for their applications later this year:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><a href=\"#M3\">Who must apply<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Factors to consider in the application process\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"#M4\">Area<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"#M5\">Documents required<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a name=\"M3\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Who must apply?<\/h3>\n<p>Grade R learners will not automatically be accepted to Grade 1 without an application even if they apply to the schools they are currently attending<\/p>\n<p>ALL\u00a0 learners that are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 years old turning 6 years old by 30 June 2023,<\/li>\n<li>are currently enrolled in Grade R in a school or ECD centre.<\/li>\n<li>learners that are not in any type of school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ALL learners must apply for admission at a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 schools.<br \/>\n<a name=\"M1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Schools of Specialisation applications start in May<\/h3>\n<p>Schools of Specialisation conduct admission tests, written assessments, trials and auditions\u00a0 20 May \u2013 26 August 2022.
