We sure are living in crazy times. The problem is when your little one says \u00a0\u201cI am bored, mummy\u201d, \u201cwhat can I do now?\u201d, \u201chow much longer\u201d and the list of questions goes on. Instead of rushing out to spend money why not recycle material that is lying around and make an aeroplane with ice cream sticks?<\/span><\/p>\n

Materials required<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ice cream sticks<\/span><\/p>\n

Large ice cream sticks (the ones Dr\u2019s put down your throat)<\/span><\/p>\n

Beads, pom poms, or any items to decorate your plane<\/span><\/p>\n

Scissor<\/span><\/p>\n

Craft glue<\/span><\/p>\n

Koki\u2019s or paint<\/span><\/p>\n

Method<\/span><\/h2>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Glue x 5 ice cream sticks together, wait for each one to dry before gluing the next stick on<\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Cut the 6th\u00a0ice cream stick in \u00a0half and glue it in the centre to create an \u00a0X shape<\/span><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Glue a craft item (preferably circular in shape) in the middle of the X shape to form the nose of the airplane<\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Take your 5 x \u00a0sticks that are glued together and turn it on its side, take the larger sticks (Dr\u2019s ones) and glue one on top and one at the bottom –\u00a0 wait for the glue to dry<\/span><\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Take the last larger stick and cut it in half, glue the two together (one slightly on top of the other) ensure you have circular edges on both sides. Glue this onto the rear of your airplane.<\/span><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0 <\/span>Glue the X shape (nose) onto the front of the plane \u2013 wait for the glue to dry<\/span><\/p>\n

7.\u00a0 <\/span>Allow the entire craft to dry<\/span><\/p>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Decorate the craft as desired with buttons, stickers or whatever you can find.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ice cream sticks can be kept after your child has eaten a sucker or ice cream, Just leave it out to dry, You can ask the family doctor for sticks. Truly an easy, inexpensive form of entertainment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Life is too short to be mediocre, grab life by the scissors, get your craft on and avoid a mediocre break.<\/span><\/p>\n
