 Dawncroft Ed is an alternative schooling environment for grade 10-12

Dawncoft Ed is an alternative schooling centre using distance learning with tutor support. 
The homeschooling centre aims to support parents whose children prefer smaller classrooms and personalized education.

Each student gets individual attention

At DawnCroft Ed, we believe that each student has different needs, and our homeschooling environment allows those individual needs to be met. Not all students are equally served in the typical school environment. The “one size fits all” education system unfairly assumes that all students can learn in the same way. However, some may be better suited to smaller classes, or tutorial centres, with personal attention allowing them to excel in their studies. This is where alternative schooling comes in .

Homeschooling and tutor support 

DawnCroft Ed offers small tutorials in a homely environment where the emphasis is placed on students’ strong and weak points in learning. Learners are nurtured in a constructive affirming environment by tutors and facilitators that have a passion for education.

Benefits of tutorials

• flexible – working with strengths and weaknesses and allows growth.
• interactive – discussion and dialogue are encouraged. The teacher is still key to this learning but now their role includes to facilitate, coordinate, communicate and inspire rather than to just inform
• Engaging – everyone actively contributes to the conversation allowing the facilitator to immediately assess students’ learning and understanding about a topic, and to provide in group feedback.

Encouraging learning and self motivation

Our highly motivated educators know how to foster an engaging environment that encourages alternative learning and self-motivation. We encourage self-discipline and self-directed learning and therefore do not make use of negative external motivations such as detention.

By creating an environment that teaches students to take control of their own learning, we ultimately give our students the tools, understanding and support they need to be successful in life.
