Smudge children's art centre

offers children the space and opportunity to develop and express their creativity. Smudge is a fun space, soaked in creativity for children to explore their inner-selves in a structured and artistically liberating environment.

The kids art room

run by qualified artists. Children are guided through varied art and craft activities that change weekly and include drawing, sticking, painting, building, gluing, singing, dancing, moulding, sculpting, learning, expressing and of course smiling and laughing. Art activities are always supervised and each Smudge child can leave with the little masterpiece they created.

The kids music room

offers a dreamland of sound. Children are given the freedom to express themselves through music. With the help of a giant bass-drum, xylophones and chimes which adorn the walls and ceilings, an array of percussion instruments and small drums; children are afforded the chance to create their own music and rhythms. Special music workshops by qualified music teachers are offered on a monthly basis.

The dress-up area

is where children can create their own fantasies in a ceiling suspended tent dressing up as pirates or princesses accessorised by feather boas, hats, shoes and jewellery.

the book lounge

is a quiet space where children can pick up their favourite book, curl up and read on comfy floor cushions. Special sessions will include book readings.

The party room

is a private kids party venue to host children’s birthday parties with children choosing a theme and activities for their special occasion. A qualified artist will guide the little artists through the chosen art activity. Call or email for detailed party information.

The baby space

is where toddlers and the even younger at heart can take their first steps into artistic expression by exploring stimulation through play dough, interactive books and a felt wall. There is a large baby ring to keep your little one stimulated whilst you relax in the coffee shop nearby.

The coffee shop

whilst all the creative fun is going on, mum, dads, grannies and nannies can relax in the coffee shop offering freshly baked cakes and pastries as well as the children's favourite - icing their own cupcakes.

A wonderful spot to visit and escape the chilly Winter weather - relaxed and friendly staff who encourage your little one to get messy and creative. Shannon and Olivia (16 months)

I took my 6 year old and two year old sons yesterday afternoon to this warm and utterly enchanting venue. They painted, beaded and glued. Then they (the children) happily iced and decorated cupcakes, available from the tea room counter, for all of us. My 2 year old particularly enjoyed making loud music in the music room and my six year old relaxed briefly in the "book" area after tea. Whilst I drank tea my children also had dress-up and play-doh available to play with. Most impressive was the warmth and charm of Smuge staff! If they were open today we would be on our way back there right now!!!

We attended the drumming workshop at Smudge and my girls had a blast. Their favorite part was the dress-up room. Princesses galore! We will return for the pocketbook making week to be sure.
The facility is clean and the "frost your own cupcake" corner is super popular with the crowd.
