Four generations of my family went to River Cafe last Sunday. I picked up the idea from Jozikids and was not in the least disappointed. The kids had a fabulous time, running with safe abandon, from the jumping castle to the swings to the jungle gym and back again. But the highlight for me was the food: the pasta with pesto was absolutely fabulous - my only complaint was that the helpings were not bigger! Some in our crowd had the Schnitzel and they were more than happy. Aunty Jeanette (84 years old) had good old bacon and eggs, and for once, no complaints! The selection of cakes to round off the meal was very impressive - I eventually settled on the chocolate cake and had the misfortune of having to share it with my mother, who hovered over me menacingly.
So the food was superb, the service warm and friendly, and the location ideal for a long lingering Sunday lunch. Thank you Jozikids for pointing us in the right direction.

Definitely like being in the country and when you're playing volleyball or in the sandpit its like being on the beach. A wonderful day outing for multi-age families with so much to do for everyone from cycling to volleyball to walking in the park with a secure playground for the little ones. And the food is delicious. Highly recommended.
