Bird gardens
The Montecasino Bird Gardens aims to educate adults and children of all ages about bird and animal life, conveying a strong message of conservation and environmental awareness. The Bird Gardens houses a collection of over 142 African Cycads species - the biggest collection in the world - and over 1 000 reptiles, small animals and birds. Guests are encouraged to take a tour through the main aviary, the largest exhibit of its kind in Africa, while enjoying the sights and sounds of the unique array of wonderful creatures in their specially built housing structures, designed to represent their natural environments as far as possible.
The Bird Gardens also hosts daily showings of the Flight of Fantasy Bird Show – a free educational bird show guaranteed to thrill spectators and take them on a close and intimate journey into the world of birds.
At Café Flamingo, a 90-seater restaurant overlooking the Flamingo Pond, guests can sit and enjoy a relaxing meal after their adventure.

R45-00 per Adult and R25-00 per child / Pensioner
Entry is free for children younger than 2 years.
