School for kids in hospital & undergoing long term treatment & Autistic children
The school is supported by the Gauteng Dept of Education but fundraises to cover costs of teachers’ assistants since the children’s autism is usually severe and extra hands are needed in the classroom.
The school class sizes are 8 in the junior section and 6 in the senior section with a vocational training section that all children attend, even the young children.
Sites where the schools are run:
At the Charlotte Maxege hospital

At the CMI building in Braamfontein
There are classes for 180 children who are autistic or with visual impairment from age 3 to 21.
