cost	Class fees are charged per term, but can be paid in monthly installments by arrangement with the studio. Fees also vary according to age group. All new families have a R50 Registration fee. The BEST part is our Music Packs, which come every 6 months and include CDs, instruments, notation cards and everything your child will need for 6 months. These prices depend on the current curricula and the age of your little one.

Music classes for children

Music brings Children to Life!
Research has shown that, overall, music activities are ideal for the development of your growing child. Music immerses the child in language, evokes movement which fosters physical co-ordination, it stimulates the entire brain, develops listening skills which is the foremost necessity for learning, and just so much more! Remember that following through diligently with a music program has been known to raise your child's IQ! And, it improves their abilities in higher forms of thinking - maths, science, literature, etc.

MusikGarten provides you and your child with a safe environment to develop at your child's individual pace. The focus is towards the enjoyment of learning and no child is "forced" to participate. It is more important that you and your child are present, as simply being in the room means your child is learning.

Children can be enrolled as young as birth or at any point in time and follow the program through to approximately 9 years of age. Each class provides opportunities for you and your child to learn the basic fundamentals of music, through tonal and rhythm patterns. By the time your child has completed the MusikGarten Keyboard program they are fully capable of playing songs on the keyboard by ear, by heart and by sight (reading music). Many children also compose their own songs and all of them are able to perform in front of an audience (Great Confidence!).

Your child's development is of the utmost importance and each child is made to feel valued and intelligent, no matter what their capabilities are. Cherise's Little Music Studio is focused on the process of development and not on the performance! Learning and developing should always be enjoyable!

Music class times

Class times vary according to age groups, so that each lesson has age appropriate activities.
New time slots can be fitted in with a minimum of 4 children of similar age in the group.
Saturday classes are also available as we understand the pressure of working moms!

Cassidey joined Cherise's Little Music Studio at 3 months and is now 2 and a half. The time we have spent together every Saturday over the past 2 years has certainly been time well spent. Talk of quality time together! No weekend arrangements EVER get in the way of our music class as Cassidey would be devastated. She truly does live for music! The classes are packed with age appropriate activities, an extremely encouraging and energetic teacher, Cherise, topped off with loads of FUN and LAUGHTER. What more could delight any mother, after a long work day, than to get into the car with your little one driving home singing sweet happy tunes that have been picked up during class and to top it all off watch her using her babies to do all the actions and clap to the beats of the music. She really is a happy go lucky soul and will sing or play homemade 'instruments' at every and any opportunity. So much so that we have incorporated various calming methods learnt during the lesson into our relaxation time before night time sleep. We recently received her report in which her teacher noted how much she enjoys music and picks up on the beats and words to songs with ease. Our second daughter, Bailey, also joined at 3 months and will enjoy the same benefits we have noticed in Cassidey's development. There is so much to be said about music and the endless opportunities it can play in our childrens lives. I would encourage all mother's to contact Cherise for a viewing session to see what goes on in class and the benefits it provides children within all spheres of their development. It truly is amazing!!

My little one loves it so much that she already on a Monday afternoon asks when can she go to music. She loves to bounce around on the balls and sing.She is now almost 4 and has been doing this since she was 2
It is really a fun time for her and I as we do it together as our something special.

Bianca has been going to Cherise since she was 6 years old- she is now 8 and LOVES going to her Keyboard class every week. Even after a hard day in Grd3, she has never once complained that she still has to go to MusikGarten. Cherise has become more than just a teacher to her, she is her friend who always has a smile on her face, never scolds, but is always willing to help and has allowed her to build confidence in herself. I am so pleased that she herself has noticed how much easier and quicker things are learnt if you practise (a great life-lesson I believe!) Having had a few keyboard lessons myself MANY MANY years ago, I can now proudly say that Bianca knows more about music theory than I do! Thanks Cherise- WE LOVE YOU!

I noticed a change in my 7yr old son since I introduced the discipline of music to him over a year ago. He hums in the shower, catches onto songs on the radio & sometimes sing songs normal sentences. I hope the music bug that he has caught onto settles into his system & helps inspire as he grows. Thanks Cherise for your contribution to his development.

My daughter (Megan) has been going to Cherise's Little Music studio since Megan was 18 months, she is now nearly 3 years. The growth and development in her is amazing. She has grown in confidence, listening skills and gross motor skills to name but a few. Cherise not only cares about what happens in class, but gives wonderful tips on what to do at home to improve certain areas of development. Cherise not only gives a workout for the toddlers, but also for you as a parent! It is most definitely the highlight of my daughter's week and mine too. It is a special time where mommy and daughter bonds and something we do together. I will highly recommend it and will continue with her music class until Cherise kicks us out!

Cherise's Little Music Studio was an incredible find! Both my daughter, Miya and myself look forward with great anticipation to each lesson. We enjoy the music and movement and I'm really impressed with the curriculum offered and all the activities - it is music, but it is also so much more than music - the development of the whole child is taken into consideration and incorporated through the classes. Cherise is a fantastic teacher and we cannot wait to start up again with her soon (she's just had her own first little baby :))

My daughter Nadia, LOVES going to music class at Cherise's Little Music Studio. She not only enjoys the songs and dances that we do, but loves teacher Cherise. Cherise is brilliant with children and Nadia has learnt so much from attending her classes. The CDs from Musik Garten are also excellent and we use them often in the car when travelling around town or going on holiday.
