The Dance Factory's Xmas Appeal

Annually, at Christmas, The Dance Factory launches an Angels Appeal, which encourages
individual dance-lovers and well-wishers, to contribute to our Youth Training Programme.

Each January, we audition Children who could not afford to pay for dance lessons between the ages of 5 and 14. Your donations allow us to offer places to talented children, irrespective of home financial circumstances.

In 2010, we worked with over 50 youngsters. We already have over 50 new applicants for the
2011 auditions, to be held on Sat 15th January.

Your donation, no matter how small, will help to nurture the young dancers of the future.

Best wishes
Suzette le Sueur

Dance classes for kids

The Dance Factory runs a dance training programme for children who are selected at the annual audition, which takes place each January, on the first Saturday after schools reopen. All children attend classes in both contemporary dance and classical ballet, given by experienced, professional teachers. Classes take place in the well-equipped studio at The Dance Factory in Newtown. Children train within the stimulating environment of a working theatre, where they are exposed to a range of professional choreographers, dancers and performances.

The Dance Factory is a non-fee paying institution, but students are constantly assessed and students who do not make progress, or miss classes are asked to leave. The program receives financial support from the Royal Netherlands Embassy (through the Arts and Culture Trust) and from the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
