Charity Centre to uplift street children - NPO NO: 075-698-NPO
Hart Day Centre was established to address the social, health and safety concerns of homeless youth on the streets of Johannesburg and the East Rand.
Our aim is to re-establish the self esteem of street children and ignite a drive and purpose for their life. This is done by using various forms of art. We believe that exploring creativity, stimulates the desire to dream, learn, grow and hope. To run this home we have 5 full time staff members, which includes a full time art teacher and house parents.
hArt currently cares for 5 boys on a full time basis in our home, we also run the day center where street children come daily to receive tutoring. They are fed 2 meals a day and given a place to shower and wash their clothes. Clothes are also given to them if needed.
