Charity - Aftercare facility for needy kids
Golang Education Outreach is and NPO Preschool and Aftercare Centre for 300 vulnerable children living in the Zandspruit Informal Settlement. We provide a safe and stimulating environment, offering tutoring, life-skills and sports programs to 40 pre-schoolers and 250 primary and high school children at the Emthonjeni Community Centre.
Golang was established in 2001 as an Aftercare Centre (Kidz Club) with the aim of keeping the children of Zandspruit off the streets. Our vision is to uplift and enhance the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable children by offering a nurturing environment where each child can develop to his or her full potential by serving their physical, mental, emotional and educational needs.
Each child is also provided with two meals per day.
We employ 20 staff members from the Zandspruit Informal Settlement, who teach, tutor, nurture, guide and play with the children every afternoon during school term.
